After a
considerable long absence from my Blog, at last I have collected my wits to
present one more rare song of real good taste to those very few members who
used to open my Blog for a good rare song.
This today's rare
song is from a film called 'Tikon Ka Chotha Kon', an unsuccessful film, which
was released in 1986. It was produced written and directed by Madhusudan. The
star cast consisted of Vijayendra, Priyadarshini, Swarup Sampat and others.
Mahadevi Varma, Shahayar and Maya Govind were lyricist of the songs set by none
other than my favorite MD Jaidevji. Playback artists were Bhupinder, Chhaya
Ganguli, Penaz Masani and Shobha Joshi.
The innocence of
the heroin, about her ignorance of what she did that has created magic on the
lover is beautifully expressed in the lyrics of the song. Poetess Maya Govindji, who generally declines
giving permission to use her creations for films, gladly approved MD Jaidevji's
request. Chhaya Ganguli's rendering of
the song in her classically trained voice touches the listener's heart to
create the desired effect. Jaidevji's
unique style is beyond my description.
Lyrics:
Houle houle ras ghole bole
mujhse jiya
Kiya piya pe kya jaadoo, par
maine kya kiya
Itaraaye ithalaye puchhe
mujhse jiya
Kiya piya pe kya jaadoo, par
maine kya kiya
Soona soona tha yeh ghar,
sooni sooni thi dagar
Soona soona tha yeh ghar,
soone soone the sahar
unhe paa ke apanaake poora
sapana kiya
bina jui huwa tan man huwa
madhuban
Mohe mile hai sajan main to
bani re dulhan
Huwa baadal mora aanchal
darshan de diya
